James P. “Trey” Cassidy III, an administrator at a 600-student school in Michigan, will take over the top job at Bancroft School in Worcester next summer, the school announced today.
Cassidy will succeed Scott Reisinger, who has served as head of the private, coed, Pre-K-to-12 -school since 1999. The appointment will take effect next July 1.
Bancroft has about 500 students.
Cassidy is a “worthy successor whose own interests and prior experience qualify him to lead Bancroft School into the future,” read a statement from Kevan Gibson, president of Bancroft’s board of trustees.
Cassidy is currently assistant head of school and head of upper school at University Liggett School, a pre-K–12, coeducational day school in Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. He is in his sixth year at University Liggett. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and a master of science in education, both from the University of Pennsylvania, and an Independent Schools Leadership Certificate from Johns Hopkins.
