Avidia Head Joins Insurance Fund Board
Mark O'Connell, the president and CEO of Hudson-based Avidia Bank, has joined the board of directors of the Depositors Insurance Fund, which provides excess deposit insurance to 68 Massachusetts savings banks.
O'Connell joined Hudson Savings Bank in 1998 and became CEO in 2004. Hudson Savings merged with Westborough Bank in 2007 to form Avidia. Previously, he was an auditor and partner at T.C. Edwards & Co.
O'Connell is a graduate of Salem State College and has an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
He is a director of the United Way of Tri-County, the Marlborough Hospital Charitable Foundation and the Financial Managers Society.
