Northborough manufacturing company Aspen Aerogels has appointed Katie Kool to its board of directors, replacing Robert Gervis, who retired on Tuesday after serving the company leadership for 11 years.
Kool retired as CEO of Tide Cleaners, a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble in June. She spent 27 years at the Cincinnati manufacturing company, including as a CFO of the company’s North America Fabric Care unit. She helped on the company’s investor relations team and helped with acquisitions.
"Katie brings a history of proven success, decisive leadership, and business and financial acumen across multiple divisions of a Fortune 500 company, and that experience will greatly benefit Aspen Aerogels and our Board of Directors," Aspen President and CEO Donald Young said in a press release on Wednesday.
In September, Aspen Aerogels announced plans to open a 59,000-square-foot research facility in Marlborough to service the electric vehicle battery industry.
