Fitchburg State University's LAURIE J. DEROSA assumed the post of vice president of Kappa Delta Pi Executive Council. She is a professor in the university's education department. DeRosa has been a Kappa Delta Pi member since 1978.
Three Worcester schools made The Princeton Review's list of The Best 377 Colleges. COLLEGE OF THE HOLY CROSS was named one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education; ASSUMPTION COLLEGE and WORCESTER STATE UNIVERSITY were ranked among the best colleges in the Northeast.
ARLENE KORAB, executive director of the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, with offices in Westborough, was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. This past year she helped organize the Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injury Commission to investigate support services.
Nativity School of Worcester's Class of 2016 will be named in honor of REV. JOHN E. BROOKS, the late president of the College of the Holy Cross. The presentation of the class name will be made during a Mass at the school on Sept. 6.
SUSANNE MORREALE LEEBER, president and CEO of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce, received her 25-year award for work in the chamber of commerce industry from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, when she attended the annual international convention in Louisville, Ky.
SUSAN FENTIN, partner at Skoler Abbott & Presser, which has offices in Worcester, will deliver a legal update on Massachusetts labor and employment law at a Human Resource Management Association of Western New England dinner on Sept. 17.
DAVID BACKUS, owner of Fish Window Cleaning in Leominster, was given the Navigator Award at the annual Fish Window Cleaning Convention in St. Louis. The company, founded in 1978, began franchising in 1998.
