More Information

Led by their fearless leader Ralph, the Crowley siblings are the braintrust behind Central Massachusetts’ most iconic manufacturer in Polar Beverages and a top five tourist attraction in the Wachusett Mountain Ski Area. The most visible decision the Crowleys made in the past year will come to full fruition in 2021, after Polar agreed to be the title sponsor of the $101-million Polar Park baseball stadium being built in Worcester for the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Polar remains one of the largest manufacturers in the region with 725 employees in Worcester and continues to innovate with new products, particularly in the seltzer market, where it teamed up with Boston’s Harpoon Brewery to release a new line of hard seltzers like Ruby Red Grapefruit, Pineapple Pomelo, Raspberry Lime and Black Cherry. The company’s reputation for quality and innovations have even drawn the interest of beverage giants Coca-Cola and Pepsi, with the latter putting Polar in charge of distribution centers in Idaho and Wyoming. At Wachusett Mountain, with its 505,000 in annual attendance and 1,000 seasonal employees, investments made in new snow-making equipment has paid off with a longer season. The ski area continues to expand its amenities with a new restaurant and bar opened in December.
