COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER, The Hanover Insurance Group
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Shrewsbury
Favorite movie: "Good Will Hunting"
Favorite Book: Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy, a book given to me by a former boss and mentor and one that contains many valuable lessons.
Career highlights: I've had the opportunity to do challenging and rewarding work alongside some of our community's most interesting and dedicated individuals. I have had the honor of working for Assumption College and, now, The Hanover Insurance Group, two organizations that truly exemplify solid corporate citizenship and a deep commitment to making our community a better place.
Community involvement: I'm proud to serve on the boards of several local nonprofits, where I put my skills to work in support of their important missions to serve others. These organizations include the Worcester County Food Bank, Dismas House, Emerald Club, Y.O.U. Inc., the Worcester Tree Initiative, and the St. Peter Marian Development Board.
Biggest success: My biggest success, if you can call it that, is a valuable lesson I've learned along the way. It is one that guides me every day, on the job and in my personal life. It is to never hide from challenges. Rather, one should embrace them, recognize them, and no matter what the outcome, acknowledge you will learn something important that will enrich your life and make you a better, stronger, more capable person.
Biggest challenge: My biggest challenge by far was a personal family tragedy. This experience helped me realize what was most important in life and allowed me to focus on what matters most.
Mentors: What I have learned along the way is how important it is to listen to others. Even the most simple and humble among us may have something very important and worthwhile to share and to teach me, through their insights, challenges, successes and failures.
