Age: 31
Title: Business Development Manager
Company: Southbridge Credit Union
Company location: Southbridge
Residence: Millbury
College: Framingham State College and Nichols College
Career highlights: I am the business development manager for Southbridge Credit Union. I set up the marketing plan, design the marketing media for print, web and radio, and I set the plan in motion.
I am a graduate of Framingham State College and I’m working towards my MBA at Nichols College in Dudley.
Community involvement: I volunteer with several local organizations and the chamber of commerce.
I am on the executive committee for the Town of Millbury’s Bicentennial in 2013. I designed the Bicentennial logo, the web site at Millbury2013.com and built the media plan for the celebration.
I am on the steering committee for SouthbridgeFEST, chairing the marketing subcommittee. I create marketing materials, the logo and manage the marketing budget.
Biggest professional success: Bringing the credit union deeper online. I redesigned the company web site to be interactive and more user friendly, rich in content, and constantly changing. I have gotten SCU into Web 2.0 with social media sites, blogging, online advertising and interacting with members. SCU is now a true hybrid financial institution with brick and mortar as well as a total online banking experience.
Businessperson he admires most and why: Steve Jobs, the co-founder and CEO of Apple Computer. His thinking outside-the-box approach to business and his understanding that product aesthetics is just as crucial as product innovation are two of the reasons he was voted most powerful businessman in 2007 by Forbes.
If you weren’t doing the job you’re doing now, what would you do? I would most likely be doing something to protect the environment and control the urban sprawl that is eating up what is left of pristine woodland, wetland and farm- land.
