Worcester & MetroWest to get $1M to improve public transit

The state announced Friday $3.5 million in grant awards for regional transit authorities to implement best practices and innovative services to benefit customers, including $1 million for the Worcester and Metrowest authorities.

Electric car rebates returned for Bay State motorists on Jan. 1

The Bay State has brought back the popular rebate program for the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Electric car buyers can get up to $2,500 when they purchase of an all-electric vehicle as part of the state's strategy to put more low-emission vehicles on the road.

East-West rail study coming soon

The state expects its study on a rail link connecting Boston to the Springfield and Pittsfield areas to be completed in spring of 2020, later than its initial plan as staff work through environmental impacts and costs of possible strategies

MBTA says Worcester line back on track

Commuters on the MBTA’s Framingham/Worcester Line should have an easier time commuting. The T said crews have made progress toward permanent fixes to the commuter rail’s Worcester-to-Boston line, including repairs to the main track.
