A non-emergency transportation company with operations in Worcester County has been ordered to pay $1.05 million.

Last week, gas prices averaged $3.22 nationally while Massachusetts averaged $3.10. 

Labor unions rallied at the State House on Tuesday against legislation that would usher driverless cars into Massachusetts as industry voices touted the vehicles' safety and efficiency just hours later.

The increase in gas prices stems largely from the Iran and Israel conflict that broke out on June 13 and was intensified when the United States bombed Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a statement released by Global Partners, Jen Faigel, executive director of CommonWealth Kitchen, described the committee's recommendation as "a missed opportunity to invest in Massachusetts—and ourselves."

The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles in Milford will soon open its relocated, full-service center on June 23, fewer than two miles down the street from its former site.

Opened in November, the facility has more than 1,000 full-time employees and has approximately 32 million items in stock.

With a planned start in June and completion expected by the end of September 2026, the study seeks to find ways to reconnect neighborhoods divided by the construction of the highway in the mid-20th century.
