Worcester Polytechnic Institute has added a bachelor of science in cybersecurity to its degree offerings, nearly five years after the university introduced a cybersecurity master’s degree track in 2021.

Apple is mall-hopping in Central Massachusetts as the global tech company is moving its retail store from Marlborough’s Solomon Pond Mall to The Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury.

Green tech company ConnectM Technology Solutions has continued to expand its presence into India with the creation of a new manufacturing hub, as the Marlborough-based firm attempts to rebound from being delisted from the Nasdaq stock market earlier this year.

Each of the five participating startups will receive milestone-based funding of up to $100,000, among other support.

Mark Stewart, with the National Association Against iGaming, told a cautionary tale of states that have already legalized internet gambling. Almost 40% of those who internet gamble in Pennsylvania – where it’s legal – were “pathological gamblers,” he said. Also, studies show Pennsylvania lost 3,700 casino workers since the state launched internet gambling.

More businesses are being started and bought by military veterans, particularly as the wave of post-9/11 service members hit the civilian workforce. Still, veterans in Central Massachusetts are calling for more help.

For the past three years, the family-owned recreation site has been able to open for ski lessons in October, well before the first natural snow has begun to fall.
