1. Diversified Revenue Base and Increased Independence from State and Federal Funds: RCAP Solutions seeks to increase the overall capacity and financial stability of the organization by decreasing its reliance on federal funding. The organization will initiate a range of income-producing programmatic activities and business ventures to increase the level of unrestricted revenue or working capital that can underwrite innovation and leverage expanded services to low income rural communities.
2. Continued Development in the Northeast Rural Corridor and Caribbean: RCAP Solutions plans to expand its vital services across our northeast footprint. The organization will increase its capacity to deploy its organizational expertise across state and program boundaries in response to comprehensive issues and needs identified by communities. Recent natural disaster relief efforts are a prime example of how the organization’s water and housing expertise can be deployed throughout the region. Our diverse portfolio of services will be promoted with the goal of replicating the integrated service model, currently operating in Massachusetts, to all states. As a result, RCAP Solutions will increase brand identity and position itself as a responsive and flexible community development provider and a resource to communities of all sizes, especially those lacking the human resources or capital to improve their quality of life.
3. Expanded Education and Training Programs in our New Facility: RCAP Solutions provides professional development services that build individual skills and community capacity, which plays an important role in the organization’s transformation and a strategy to generate income. This includes the development and expansion of our business training models in areas such as workforce development and training, creating a holistic approach to education that crosses all RCAP programs, while partnering with other organizations that complement our missions and goals. This will include group seminars that are centrally coordinated and marketed, such as onsite training and testing centers, small intensive and focused workshops, and online distance learning.
RCAP Solutions does not currently hold any annual fundraising events, however the organization does host approximately 100 free education and training classes annually, including first time homebuyer and credit repair workshops in Worcester County as well as water operator and board trainings across the northeast and Caribbean to promote workforce and economic development sustainability. Opportunities exist for corporate sponsorship of these programs, which include rewarding partnership opportunities and maximum visibility. We also have several community events per year at the ten affordable properties we manage for families, the elderly and mobility impaired individuals, in addition to the legislative events we help to coordinate with our partner affiliates. In the spring of 2020, RCAP Solutions will be hosting a large open house and 50th anniversary celebration at our Worcester Headquarters, which will also serve as a fundraising event.
This fall marks a milestone for RCAP Solutions, as we kick off a yearlong celebration recognizing 50 years of making an impact on the lives of millions. Our new office space is home to the Northeast Rural Community Assistance Partnership, providing clean water and infrastructure programs to the six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands; and also serves as the Worcester County Housing Consumer Education Center, dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing programs to the residents of the 75+ towns and cities in our footprint throughout Central Massachusetts.
We invite the members of the business community and the public to support our annual appeal as we enter into our 50th anniversary. Your contribution will help provide safe, affordable housing, workforce and economic development opportunities, and ensure residents in rural communities have access to healthy, clean drinking water.
