Girls Inc. of Worcester

Future Goals

1. Program Strategy- Girls Inc. seeks to expand site and program delivery beyond Worcester with a focus on maintaining quality of impact in Central MA. We will do this by introducing new and innovative programming as well as develop more targeted engagements with girls and families.

2. Culture of Diversity, Equity, and Engagement- We seek to reassess the importance and implementation of DEI principles across the agency to advance our mission, and focus on building a great place to work.

3. Sustainability and Risk Management- We will increase financial sustainability through growth in marketing and individual giving.

4. Infrastructure and Preparedness- We seek to assess infrastructure requirements and expand Camp Kinneywood’s operations. We will also update and develop an all-inclusive Disaster and Emergency Plan.

5. Board Development- Our board is committed to increasing board engagement by exploring Board’s role in advocacy and developing best practices for Board recruitment and composition.

Giving Opportunities

When you support Girls Inc. of Worcester, you are investing in girls’ futures. Individual and corporate contributions to Girls Inc.’s Holiday, Spring, and Camp Appeals provide vital funds that enable us to deliver the “Girls Inc. Experience”; the people, place, and programming that together empower girls to succeed. Girls build confidence and embrace positive decision-making to take charge of their health and well-being, and achieve academic, personal and career goals.

Fundraising Opportunities

International Day of the Girl - Girls Inc. is celebrating this critical day of advocacy by engaging supporters and community partners in peer-to-peer fundraising challenges. 100% of proceeds will directly support program scholarships.

Girls Celebration – An inspiring event that celebrates the accomplishments of our Girl Awardees, as well as local community leaders, that truly exemplify Girls Inc.’s mission of inspiring all girls to be strong (healthy), smart (educated), and bold (independent).

Annual Meeting- Join us in October to celebrate a year of resiliency.

Alumni/Girl-Led Events – Events are planned throughout the year to honor our past and look to our future. Events, such as our Virtual Girl-Led Lunch and Learns, give our remarkable girls and alumni a platform to share their passion and skills.

College and Career Shower – At Girls Inc., we believe that graduating from high school and furthering education are reasons to celebrate and so we honor and “shower” our high school grads with gifts, awards, and inspirational messages.

To sponsor an event, please contact the Development Office at jmadson@girlsincworcester.org

Volunteer Opportunities

Girls Inc. of Worcester could not operate without the hundreds of volunteer service hours we receive every year from dedicated individuals. We welcome one-time and ongoing volunteers for a variety of in-person and virtual roles. Volunteers can choose between direct service (working with participants) or indirect service (providing administrative, fundraising, or general organizational support). Typical direct service volunteer opportunities may include leading a unit on financial literacy, hosting a STEM workshop, being a mentor or a guest speaker in one of our “A Day in the Life Of” events.  Volunteer time commitment ranges from one hour to long-term mentoring opportunities. In addition, we are always grateful to receive administrative, fundraising, or general organizational support. Learn more and sign up at www.girlsincworcester.org/volunteer or reach out to info@girlsincworcester.org

Post-Pandemic:

Over the last year, Girls Inc. staff have adapted our research-based, hands-on programming to fit new and emerging participant needs. We pivoted our in-person programs to virtual and hybrid formats, as well as opened our doors to provide full day services to girls with the highest needs. Even as the pandemic raged on, we developed new and innovative programs like Eureka! JV and GirlPad to expand and enhance our service footprint. As the pandemic shifts and fades, we plan to keep building flexible, resilient programming models that inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
