Family Health Center of Worcester is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Family Health Center provides assessment, testing, contact tracing, and care management for patients who may be successfully treated outside of the hospital. Family Health Center’s Worcester Healthcare for the Homeless staff are working in collaboration with the City of Worcester to care for the unique needs of our patients experiencing homelessness, including providing access to COVID-19 assessment, testing, and treatment. During this time, we continue to provide vital health care, behavioral health services, substance use disorder treatment, and dental services to our patients. Family Health Center is in need of personal protective equipment, including N95 masks and other supplies, and monetary donations to support health center operations.
1) Provide the highest quality, culturally-competent and culturally-affirming, patient-centered health care home and become the provider of choice for residents in our service area;
2) Create an atmosphere of wellness, therapeutic healing, positive customer service, and open accessibility;
3) Ensure that the organization is financially stable, operationally efficient, and well-managed in the Accountable Care Organization environment;
4) Be the employer of choice for diverse and talented staff in all areas of the organization;
5) As an academic health center, continue to lead the field in health care workforce development, education, and training through residency programs and internships;
6) Enhance access to healthcare and wraparound services to patients and families experiencing homelessness through our Worcester Health Care for the Homeless programs in collaboration with the City of Worcester and other community partners;
7) Enhance collaborations and strategic partnerships to strengthen the mission of the organization and the quality of patient services offered to all of our patients.
Family Health Center of Worcester relies on the generosity and support of the community to fund critical health services for low-income, uninsured or underinsured families and individuals. Family Health Center offers online opportunities for giving, including our current COVID-19 Emergency Response appeal and other special appeals conducted throughout the year. Contributions to our annual holiday appeal help support the health and well-being of our entire community.
Family Health Center also accepts donations of new items for our low-income, homeless, or refugee patients, including personal hygiene supplies (e.g. soap, razors, shampoo), newborn essentials, and cold weather garments such as mittens, hats, socks, and scarves.
Please consider a special gift to help sustain Family Health Center’s services to the community in the future. Bequests are gifts made through a will that may support the entire health center or one of our programs. Please consult your attorney or estate planner to discuss your wishes.
