Kennedy Community Health has three major events:
1. Our 2021 Annual 5K Walk and Run was held on August 7, 2021 at Polar Park. It was a new location for the event and the first 5K held at the home of the Worcester Red Sox. The family-friendly event gave attendees an opportunity to explore the new ballpark.
2. Our annual Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Awards will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Polar Park. This event acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of one individual and one organization making an impact on the health of our community.
3. Our signature Costume Party will be held Saturday, March 25, 2022 at Union Station. The event will offer guests an opportunity to come together for good food, live music and fun in support of a healthier future for all in our community.
Sponsors and participants are always welcome at all of our events. Visit our website at www.kennedychc.org for more information.
Kennedy Community Health has volunteer opportunities within our administrative areas, as well as with our event programs. Volunteers are provided experiences that are both rewarding and that assist our organization achieve our mission. Opportunities range from one day commitments to on-going opportunities serving on our advisory or planning committees.
Kennedy Community Health welcomes donations of any kind year-round. Donations can be made via our website, Facebook page and our GiveLively page at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/KennedyCHC
We also host an annual Giving Tuesday event and quarterly giving campaigns to fulfill specific needs within our organization. We welcome the opportunity to work with local businesses and individuals to develop individualized giving plans to meet specific needs and objectives, whether it be focused on event sponsors or other opportunities. We maximize every donation we receive and stretch every dollar.
In-kind donations are also always welcome. In this new challenging environment, masks and other personal protective equipment for our staff are appreciated.
2020 was a year marked by the worst pandemic the world has seen in over a century. While we are still working through the ripples of disruption it caused, Kennedy Community Health was quick to meet the moment by pivoting our operations on a dime and work to continue to make the necessary adjustments to be poised and ready to serve and protect our community. Our top priority is and has always been to keep access to care open and equitable. We transitioned to telehealth within 24 hours to keep patients and staff safe early in the pandemic, and while in-person visits have returned to a more normal pace, we anticipate that we will continue to use telehealth as a platform going forward, as it has been proven to provide a high level of patient satisfaction. As we continue to work through the pandemic and beyond, our focus will remain steadfast on addressing health inequities, both in our community as well as systemically, to provide a healthier and more equitable future for all.
