TD Bank has closed its branch in the Guaranty Building at 370 Main St. in downtown Worcester, leaving the 53-year old office building with another vacancy.

A strip mall in Leominster has been sold for $5.46 million to a Brookline real estate firm.

Following the closures, the company will have more than 350 remaining locations across the Northeast, with 13 in Central Massachusetts.

UniBank, the Whitinsville-based financial institution with 13 branches across Central Massachusetts, is working to open a new branch location in The Revington, the new mixed-use apartment building directly across the street from Polar Park.

Describing the stores as offering “unprecedented discounts,” the company said sales will apply to “workwear, footwear, teamwear and everyday clothing.”

A 218-unit apartment building slated for 225 Shrewsbury St. in Worcester is off the table, as market conditions have caused the developer of the site to pivot to adding to the plaza’s retail presence and constructing an upgraded DCU branch at the location. 

Advocates, a Framingham-based human services nonprofit, will open an autism training center for businesses and a social space for children and families impacted by autism.

Four permits have been issued for the site in 2024, according to City of Worcester records.

BJ’s Wholesale, headquartered in Marlborough, has named Dave Burwick to the bulk retailer’s board of directors.

The historic building in the heart of the town’s downtown area has held many events over its 152-year history.
