Wonder Products of Sterling, has been approved by the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. of Fitchburg for a $50,000 loan.

The Worcester Metropolitan Statistical Area seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.7% in July.

The Fitchburg Redevelopment Authority replaced 300 light fixtures with LEDs at its business center, Putnam Place in Fitchburg, which along with other changes will save 113,000 kilowatt hours annually.

The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. has granted $25,000 to the City of Leominster to support the city’s facade improvement program, which helps business owners upgrade their facilities’ exteriors.

A Shirley corporation and a couple from Dorchester completed nine transactions totaling $8 million to purchase the Hilltop Estates Condominiums in Fitchburg.

Lucy’s Furniture and Upholstery of Fitchburg received a $15,000 loan from the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. of Fitchburg, to purchase fabric for furniture repair.

VP Auto Repair and Mechanical of Leominster will receive a $50,000 loan for improvements and equipment, approved by the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. which is the economic development arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce in Fitchburg.

Communities in Worcester County and neighboring MetroWest communities received $3.4 million in grants from the Massachusetts Shared Streets and Spaces Grant Program for improvements benefitting pedestrians, cyclists, and riders of public transportation.
