The 495 North submarket, which has struggled with office vacancy and offered lease rates well below those found in neighboring regions, showed signs of improvement in the third quarter of 2013, according to Boston commercial real estate advisory firm Richards Barry Joyce & Partners (RBJ).
FolderWave, Inc., a Westford IT firm that provides cloud-based services to secondary and higher education clients, has received a financial boost from two Massachusetts Institute of Technology trustees.
FolderWave President Bob Burke declined to disclose the amounts, but said the funding, provided by James A. Champy and Susan E. Whitehead, both prominent business leaders as well as MIT trustees, is significant and will be used to beef up FolderWave's sales and marketing operations.
Mack Technologies, which makes circuit boards and electronics for the telecom, defense and industrial sectors, will save $50,000 a year at its headquarters thanks to one of the largest LED lighting retrofits in a manufacturing facility in New England, the company announced.
Framingham-based Correlsense, which makes computer application management and monitoring software known as SharePath, said it has struck a deal to integrate its technology into the cloud platform of Red Hat, which has a large facility in Westford.
