🔒Dean College’s dual leadership

Dean College in Franklin announced in June two historic appointments to its leadership team. Kenneth Elmore will serve as the school’s 14th president and former Worcester city manager Edward Augustus will be the school’s first-ever chancellor.

O’Connor’s Restaurant to be sold, as long-time owners to retire

The husband and wife who have owned O’Connor’s Restaurant & Bar since 1989, turning the eatery into a cornerstone of Worcester's Irish-American community, will sell the restaurant in August and retire.

The Worcester County Bar Association picked attorney Leonardo Angiulo as its new president-elect at its annual meeting on June 14. 

Marlborough battery innovator scores South African contract

Ambri, a Marlborough company specializing in energy storage, announced Thursday that Earth & Wire of South Africa has placed an order for the company’s liquid metal battery system to serve a 300 megawatt alternative energy site in South Africa.

Dean College to receive $1.1M from FEMA for COVID response

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse Dean College in Franklin more than $1.1 million for COVID-19 testing and disinfection between April and September 2021. 

Saint-Gobain donates $170K to Greater Worcester nonprofits

The Saint-Gobain North America Foundation, the corporate foundation of Worcester manufacturer Saint-Gobain, said on Thursday it awarded $170,000 in funding to 21 Greater Worcester nonprofits.

Median home prices spike again in MetroWest

Framingham unemployment up slightly in May

Unemployment in the Framingham area ticked up slightly in May, but the rate remained more than a percentage point lower than it was in the same month last year.
