RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp. of Marlborough said it has received a new patent on a delivery system for the treatment diseases with an inflammatory component.

Marlborough-based Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) has received approval to sell its system designed to treat tremor disorders in the European Union, the company announced Wednesday.

SanDisk will open a new 60,000-square-foot research and development facility in Marlborough on Thursday with a ceremony featuring the company's co-founder and local officials.

Bent Productions, a manufacturer of custom-made sets for professional theater groups in the Northeast, has purchased an 18,000-square-foot manufacturing building in Clinton to house its new location, according to the broker, Greater Boston Commercial Properties Inc. of Marlborough.

Boston Scientific has completed its purchase of the interventional business of Bayer AG, opening up the Marlborough-based company's treatment solutions for vascular conditions.

The recent announcement by GE Healthcare Life Sciences to move its headquarters to Marlborough is not just an unquestionable boost for that city and Central Massachusetts as a whole. It shows that when you've got a good thing going, people are more likely to cozy up to you.
