The Patrick administration is awarding nearly $14 million in grants to support new building projects for nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, schools, and communities across the state, including 21 in Central Massachusetts.
Hopkinton-based EMC Corp. saw net income decline by $188 million in the first quarter, to $392 million, as costs increased, but revenue increased 2 percent to $5.5 billion.

Sold at $131 per square foot for a total of $1.28 million, the industrial property at 71 South St. is two-thirds two-story office space with the remaining area being industrial drive-through bays.
“The value here is truly in the 3.82 acres of industrial land located less than a mile from Exit 21B off (Interstate) 495, and which can be utilized in (a) manner that is very difficult to find so close to 495 or the Mass Turnpike,” said Greater Boston Commercial Properties Senior Associate Benjamin Gatti, who procured the buyer.
EMC Corp. of Hopkinton, which recently announced financial results that exceeded analysts' expectations, has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 10 cents per share of stock that it will pay in April.
