A factory on Southbridge Street could be key in unlocking a faster and more cost-effective way to fight the housing crisis: modular construction.

The owner of Alpha Healthcare, a Swansea-based skilled nursing facility with a location in Franklin, has been cited about $1.1 million for penalties and unpaid wages to hundreds of employees.
