The owner of the Vietnamese restaurant in Shrewsbury has purchased a Shrewsbury Street property with his sisters, where they are hoping to find more space and cost savings.

About two years after announcing his business’s closure, Albert Maykel sold the plaza which formerly housed the Living Earth Market on Chandler Street in Worcester for $1.5 million, according to the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds.

A Shrewsbury Street restaurant which closed during the beginning of the pandemic has been sold to a family of Asian-cuisine connoisseurs.

In a special town meeting on Thursday, residents of Sturbridge voted 449-325 to deny zoning bylaws for a $25-million equine center that would include sports betting.
