Employees are on the move at Akoya Biosciences, Milford Regional Medical Center, and MutualOne Bank, with new hires joining operations and promotions happening within organizations.

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation has selected 19 artists for its second Business of Art cohort, which is funded by GWCF’s Creative Worcester Initiative in partnership with the Boston-based Barr Foundation and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art's Assets for Artists program. 

EyePoint Pharmaceuticals has selected Hopkinton-based Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects to design its 40,000-square-foot facility.

Two new cannabis dispensaries are joining the growing crowd in Central Massachusetts. One new store opened in Grafton that opened on Saturday, and another in Southbridge will open its doors on March 30. 

Lackey Dam Logistics Center, proposed by national developer Scannell Properties on the on the Uxbridge-Sutton line, is permitted and is seeking a tenant so construction can begin, adding to the industrial inventory along Route 146.

A 450,800-square-foot warehouse in Uxbridge at 139 Campanelli Drive in Uxbridge is complete, according to Boston-based developer The Seyon Group.

Although the growth slowed last year, 2022 still showed Central Massachusetts has become a destination for new businesses. Another 2,772 new businesses incorporated in the region in 2022, a 1.5% increase over the eye-popping 2021 figures.

The nonprofit Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, Inc. has elected Dennis Rice as the chair of its board of directors.

While single-family home prices in Worcester County remained relatively steady in January, the number of home sales dropped significantly.
