Five organizations in Boxborough and Stow received a combined $232,209 as part of nearly $600,000 awarded in Central Massachusetts and $1 million statewide from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection grants to small public water suppliers.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council granted $2,500 each to 69 Central Massachusetts organizations as part of $1.85 million doled out statewide in 2023 Festival Grants Projects.

Rockland Trust Co., which has nine branches in Central Massachusetts, and its parent company Independent Bank Corp. appointed Jeffrey Tengel as the new CEO, replacing Christopher Oddleifson, who has been serving in the position for 2003.

Kevin Meehan, the owner of the Imperial automotive chain and a Mendon businessman, has bought the site of the former Bernat Mill in Uxbridge that burned down in 2007.

David Andelman, who bought the Mendon Twin Drive-In with his brothers Dan and Michael Andelman in 2014, will resign from the company, as well as CEO of Phantom Gourmet, Inc. in Boston, which he co-founded in 2013, according to a statement posted to the Phantom Gourmet page on Facebook on Tuesday.
