Sales of new homes fell in July

Sales of new single-family homes across the United States in July fell more than 2 percent over June, although they were up 12.3 percent from July of last year, the government said Monday.

New construction starts in July across the United States climbed 6 percent compared over last year, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $588.8 billion, according to McGraw Hill Construction, a division of McGraw Hill Financial.

Worcester firm buys city building for $1M

Bay State Investment Fund LLC of Worcester has purchased the former Salty Dog building at 1 Kelley Sq. for $1 million, the company said.
