On Friday, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced it and rail companies Amtrak and CSX Corp. applied for $108 million in federal transportation money to improve the tracks between Worcester and Springfield, with the plan to add twice daily trips between the two cities, toward the goal of improving the frequency and speed of train trips between Boston and Albany. The addition of more trains from Worcester to Springfield opens up greater possibilities for trips between the Heart of the Commonwealth and New York City, as trains depart several times per day between Springfield and New York's Penn Station.

I already do Providence to Penn Station. Nice way to avoid airports, rental cars & traffic in almost the same amount of door to door time. Please include an analysis of Worcester to PVD as another option for opening up another route to NYC.
The reason my response is "no" is because it is too expensive to take the train vs driving.

I regularly get a ride from Worcester down to New Haven and catch the train to Grand Central in Manhattan. It typically runs a few times an hour and is usually less than $20. If there was a train from Worcester to New Haven, that would be great!
