For every person who complains of Zoom fatigue during the coronavirus pandemic, there’s another seemingly ready to hop on a video call at every chance. While some generally agreed upon etiquette seems to be developing, like muting yourself when you’re not speaking during larger meetings and keeping meetings to an hour or less, those standards can vary widely depending on the group. In addition, there seems to be no standard or agreed-upon norms for the volume of video calls on any given day, another factor in people feeling overwhelmed.

I appreciate the convenience, but I miss in-person meetings. The dynamic is dampened in Zoom meetings: Problem-solving isn’t as good, creative thinking is curtailed.

I am OK with it as a supplement to in-person meetings, not a total replacement.
