The coronavirus pandemic has upended many markets in the last 19 months, while creating some new opportunities. One market opportunity near the start of the pandemic came as people stayed at home, first entirely and then less so, consumed more alcohol. However, there has been pushback against increased consumption as the National Institutes of Health sees that increase in the use of alcohol as a public health problem, which has become more acute during the pandemic. More restaurants are offering alcohol-free mocktails, and craft brewers are entering the non-alcoholic beer market.

Do you think the non-alcoholic beer market will grow?

I switched to NA beer about two years ago and haven’t looked back. I’ve tried a number of offerings from around the U.S. The best I’ve found is Athletic Brewery in Stratford, CT.

I want it to. More people are addicted to drugs and alcohol in this city, it is so apparent everyday when you see people on the streets begging for money. Young people everyday, everywhere at every stop light and crosswalk. This city has liquor stores, bars and banks all over the place but no affordable places to live and the streets are littered with such gross trash and debris that something should be done. I walk and it is almost unsafe how much of a horrific state the streets are in, and the city built that Polar Park and is proud of it!

This non-alcoholic movement has already started and I don't see it slowing down for several years.
