    It is up to the shareholders to decide what societal issues they wish to support, and to what extent, with their share of any profits.

    None of the above.
    Every company (and every individual) needs to maintain a balance between what is good for them, and what is good for the community.
    If a company (or an individual) allows the good of others to overtake their own good, they run the risk of failure.
    If they fail, they become a burden on society, and that makes everyone worse off.
