As the federal government shutdown dragged on into November, nearly 42 million Americans were at risk of losing their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. While the end of the shutdown should bring those SNAP payments back online eventually, the issue certainly raised awareness around the level of food insecurity in our communities.
