SeraCare hit with state environmental fine

Medical device manufacturer SeraCare Life Sciences of Milford has been slapped with a $6,621 penalty over alleged violations of state hazardous waste management regulations, the Mass. Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced. During a May 2014 inspection, DEP personnel determined that SeraCare stored hazardous waste for longer than allowed, failed to properly label hazardous waste containers, clearly designate its hazardous waste accumulation area and keep a record of inspections conducted on its hazardous waste accumulation area, a DEP statement said.
