The sale, announced in a Jack’s Abby Instagram post on Friday, will see both companies operate under the name Hendler Family Brewing Co.

The new owners of the property intend to open a Chinese hot pot restaurant at the location. 

While the Massachusetts cannabis industry continues to feel growing pains, consumers’ appetite for cannabis has shown no signs of slowing. 

A Clinton-based cannabis dispensary permanently closed its doors in April, as the company faces a lawsuit from a vendor regarding alleged missed payments over HVAC work done at its building.

A Fitchburg property owner is involved in two separate proposals to see a Main Street property host a new retro arcade bar and eight residential units. 

Developers behind the plan have shifted course and are now in the process of welcoming a handful of new tenants to the plaza, including a new upscale Brazilian steakhouse.  

Current rules require two employees to be in any vehicle that is transporting cannabis, but commissioners voted in December three to one to approve a change to eliminate that requirement. Business owners are waiting for the commission to formally rewrite and approve the regulations, a process that has taken four months.

Just as cannabis businesses are gearing up for the holiday known as 4/20, an unofficial celebration of marijuana where dispensaries see some of their largest crowds of the year, eleven companies in Central Massachusetts received $430,000 from the first grants from the Massachusetts Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund.

The Town intends on constructing a three-story firehouse at the location, with room for a future three-story police station at the location as well, according to a presentation made by Auburn Fire Chief Stephen Coleman before the January Town Meeting vote.

This move will see the end of Clark’s relationship with Sodexo, a French company that had provided hospitality services for the school since 2007.
