Senators dove into debate Thursday on a wide-reaching economic development bond bill by making official their latest push to revive happy hour in some Massachusetts communities.

Worcester-based social equity cannabis dispensary New Dia is suing a California-based entity, claiming the firm has failed to pay an agreed upon purchase price of $2 million for a minority stake in the dispensary. 

Rep. Daniel Donahue, House chairman of the Cannabis Policy Committee, sent a letter Tuesday inviting Shapiro to a hearing on Tuesday, July 9 at 11 a.m. to discuss his letter and his review of the CCC

Atlantic Beverage Distributors, the food and beverage distributor based in Holliston, has signed a distribution deal with the manufacturer of a drink which claims to lower blood alcohol content.

It’s unclear if the new restaurant will be operated by Worcester-based Niche Hospitality Group, which also owns Bocado Tapas Wine Bar and Mezcal Tequila Kitchen.

After months of controversy surrounding the state’s Cannabis Control Commission, Massachusetts Inspector General Jeffrey Shapiro is calling for the state legislature to appoint a receiver to manage the day-to-day operations of the agency.
