Hoffey is already a noted lawyer, having received the Worcester County Bar Association’s President’s Award in 2010 and been named an up-and-coming lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2013. He was the chairman of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Massachusetts Bar Association in 2012 and 2013. But Hoffey’s still on the move, expecting to finish his MBA this year. Hoffey works with a management team to lead an office of 23 lawyers and staff to deliver cost savings for MAPFRE, and has served as its brand ambassador. Hoffey is an ambitious volunteer, devoting his time through MAPFRE in southern Worcester County with children’s events at local libraries and schools, as well as at his daughter’s elementary school by helping students select books at the book fair and pitching in on kindergarten center activities. Even before his 5-year-old daughter was born, Hoffey served as referee and umpire for local sports games. Today, he helped organize the American Heart Association Heart Walk and the Cradles to Crayons fundraiser, and he regularly donates blood to the American Red Cross. – Profile by Grant Welker
What movie character is most like you? Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid” is strong and determined but demonstrates a great ability for self contemplation, compassion and understanding.
Why do you live in Central Mass.? I love being two hours from the ocean and two hours from the mountains.
Where do you go from here? Continue to learn, grow, and strive to be a better father, husband, co-worker, and leader. The rest will take care of itself.
