Ever wonder what happens to the beautiful artwork on craft beer cans and seltzers after they are thrown away? Through Paul Lincoln’s startup, these recyclables are given new life and transformed into candles.
During the day Lincoln works as a sales audit supervisor in corporate finance for the $40-billion Framingham retail parent TJX Cos. However, his passion for candle-making has quickly turned into a highly profitable business and an outlet for charitable giving. Since launching in 2018, Lincoln Crafted has sold more than 2,500 candles and can be purchased on Etsy and at Worcester locations such as Crompton Collective, Worcester Wares, Redemption Rock Brewing Co., and Sparkle on Park. After surviving a childhood illness, Lincoln grew to appreciate the support coming from a strong community. Lincoln shares his experiences as a public speaker for The Jimmy Fund and dedicates his time to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass & Metrowest, where he matched with his little 10 years ago. Every month Lincoln donates 5% of his candle’s proceeds to a different local nonprofit. His company hosts a golf tournament to raise money for pediatric cancer. Known for his big heart and generosity, Lincoln is proud of the example he is setting for his 11-month-old daughter, his BBBS little, and the community.

What message would you now give to your 10-year-old self? Don’t take things so seriously. Have fun. Don’t waste time doing sprints and drills in the backyard; you’re not making the NBA. Haha.
