Landry is a serial entrepreneur. In his mere 34 years on the planet, he has launched an artificial intelligence company, an art company, a children’s clothing and accessory company, and a property management company. But despite being a jack of all trades, Landry’s bread and butter is food science.
He has three degrees in the discipline – a bachelor’s, master’s, and a doctorate – and started teaching a course in food science at Boston University while studying for his doctorate at UMass Amherst, where he completed five additional first-author publications and one patent and taught the science of what you eat to undergraduates. In 2016, Landry joined Liberty Biosecurity in Virginia as a scientist, where he quickly rose up the ranks and became chief scientist. Last year, he was named the company’s president and made the decision to bifurcate into two companies: Liberty and Delavie Sciences. Delavie is a consumer care products company, and its first item is expected to hit the market this year. Another company of his, artwork company Variable Editions, works with established artists to bring their work to the masses.
What movie best encapsulates your personality? “Ghostbusters” – I love humor and science.
What Central Mass. historical figure do you most admire? Robert Goddard. I really admire forward-thinking people who are not afraid of pressing boundaries.
What is the key to your success? Willing to learn on the fly, believing in myself, and not taking no for an answer.
When do you want to retire? Never officially. I like to keep busy.
