40 Under Forty Class of 2013: Amy Lynn Chase

Class of 2013

Amy Lynn Chase

Then: Founder of Crompton Collective and Canal District Farmers Market, Worcester

Now: Founder & CEO of Crompton Collective, Haberdash, The White Room, Canal District Farmers Market in Worcester & Hudson

When she won 40 Under Forty, Chase had just opened the Crompton Collective, with wares from more than 100 local artists, creating a destination in the neighborhood. Six years later, the Canal District is a bustling up-and-coming district, where Chase recruits and mentors new businesses. Last year, she turned her sights to Hudson, opening a clothing store, named after her original mobile boutique. This year, she opened her second Haberdash location, this time heading back to Worcester to the same building as Crompton. Chase has served on the board of the Canal District Alliance, worked with students at her alma mater, Worcester Technical High School, and donated space for charities such as Binkeez For Comfort. – Profile by Grant Welker

What did 40 Under Forty mean to you? In building this business, I lost myself in work and was trying to do something to better my community, but my family and loved ones were the ones who suffered. The night of The 40 under Forty awards was really emotional. My family was filled with pride, and them seeing our lost time was not wasted was very important.
