Baker, Sununu clash over gas tax hike 

Gov. Charlie Baker and Gov. Chris Sununu, both Republicans, disagree over the value of a regional pact to drive down carbon emissions. Baker said the Transportation Climate Initiative, which could raise that gas tax by 17 cents, is the "best way" for states to meet emission reduction goals.

A proposal to cap carbon emissions from vehicles could add up to 17 cents to the price of a gallon of gas, according to estimates, but could also generate more than $500 million in revenue for the Bay State.
