Notre Dame Academy in Worcester has named Linda Anderson, the former principal of St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg, as its next head of school.

Massachusetts AFL-CIO, the Climate Jobs Massachusetts Action coalition and a handful of individual locals were among those who voiced support for a bill (H 3476 / S 2275) that would require energy and air quality audits for public schools, universities and colleges.

Quinsigamond Community College’s fall 2025 enrollment has grown approximately 15% since last year, reaching the Worcester school’s highest headcount in 13 years. 

The expansion project will see the vacant school building converted into a childcare center, which will add 20 new preschool seats and 65 additional school-age care slots.

Framingham State University’s STEM, students, faculty, and academic programs just received a major boost in funding as a former university professor and his wife have pledged more than $2 million to the Central Massachusetts school.

The 20-member committee will be led by UMass Chan Trustee David Brunelle, co-founder and managing director of Worcester-based North Pointe Wealth Management. 

New board members have been appointed to the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts and Worcester County Horticultural Society.

Stimpson, who worked in Worcester for Morgan Stanley at 100 Front St. from 2008 to 2012, is now planning on expanding one of his businesses into Central Massachusetts.

The past few years have seen some lessening of the national CPA shortage, but local experts warn not to be so hasty in declaring the crisis over, especially in Central Massachusetts.
