The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester will play football this fall at the Polar Park baseball stadium in the Canal District, according to an announcement from the Worcester Red Sox previewing a press conference on Friday.

In an event in the works since 2018 that likely would have been a sellout regardless of capacity, the Worcester Red Sox first home game Tuesday at their $160-million public stadium in the Canal District sold out.
