While the statewide climb in prices was expected, the slight decline in total sales in both Central Massachusetts and the entire state was not foreseen.
Central Massachusetts saw an increase in the number of single-family homes sold in April when compared to the same month last year, as average sales prices in the region largely continue to climb.

Single family home sales in the City of Worcester dropped 36% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to last year. Sales dropped 53% in March compared to the previous year, according to Peabody research firm, The Warren Group.
