Despite progress in the lower rungs of higher education’s leadership ladder, women are not equally represented in the industry’s top executive spot.

Nichols College in Dudley has received a $100,000 commitment from an alum, 1972 graduate Ed Donahue. Donahue’s donation will support students from areas local to Dudley.

The Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts board has selected Vincent Rougeau, president of The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester as its next board chair, effective July 1.

Nichols College in Dudley will offer online master’s degrees to the 1,700 members of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at a 40% discount, while military veterans who are members of the force will receive additional benefits.

David Bedard has committed $100,000 to Nichols College in Dudley to support strategies designed to increase the prominence of the school regionally and nationally, according to a Wednesday press release from the college.
