Nichols College in Dudley has launched a master's degree in counterterrorism as a way to help the U.S. Department of Homeland Security offset violent extremism.

Nichols College has received a $1-million gift from 1980 graduate and Nichols trustee Stephen A. Davis that will go towards scholarships for Western Massachusetts-based students as well as construction costs for a new academic building.
