Unionized utility workers for National Grid in Massachusetts and Rhode Island have reached a tentative agreement with the company on a new contract, according to a statement from a union official.
National Grid, whose electricity and gas territory covers most of Central Massachusetts, said it is preparing for widespread and prolonged power outages as a result of the snow that has already started falling today.
Bridge Energy Group, a Marlborough firm focused on utility business consulting and system integration, announced it has been chosen by National Grid as the project leader for the utility's smart grid pilot in Worcester.
