Westborough-based defense optics manufacturing firm Kopin Corp. has entered into a securities purchase agreement for private investment in company shares expected to raise $41 million.

Westborough-based optics firm has named Erich Manz, a former executive at New Hampshire-based Allegro MicroSystems, as its replacement for its retiring CFO.

Rich Sneider served as the firm’s CFO since 1998.
