Fidelity Co-operative Bank

Fidelity Bank of Fitchburg has agreed to pay $3.5 million toward a relief fund for Massachusetts investors who were defrauded by an alleged pyramid scheme involving TelexFREE of Marlborough, the secretary of state's office announced Monday.

A subsidiary of Leominster-based Fidelity Bank has purchased an office and warehouse building in Worcester for $4.1 million.

UPDATED: Secretary of State William F. Galvin has subpoenaed Fidelity Bank President John F. Merrill to be interviewed in connection with the alleged TelexFREE pyramid scheme that imploded in April.
