Central One Federal Credit Union of Shrewsbury purchased a former Bank of America location at 82 Prospect St. in Milford for $1.3 million, in order to open a new branch at the location.

Assumption University on Friday held a special gala for alumni, faculty, and other donors who helped support its seven-year Light the Way campaign, which saw more than $50 million in funds raised. 

Central Massachusetts business organizations with recent hires and promotions include Oriol Health Care, GFA Federal Credit Union, and Bay State Savings Bank.

The project aims to help and enhance young, incarcerated fathers’ relationships with visiting children.

The bank officially turned 150 in 2020, but postponed any planned celebration until this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The goal of this effort is to better the health of community members in 11 communities: Ashby, Ayer, Bolton, Groton, Harvard, Lancaster, Littleton, Lunenburg, Pepperell, Shirley, and Townsend.

Beginning on Wednesday, prominent professionals with ties to Worcester will return to the city, as currently residing local leaders discuss the ongoing economic changes and development occurring in the Heart of the Commonwealth.
