Yale becomes a minority school

With representatives from all 50 states and 42 foreign nations, nearly 40 percent of students matriculating in September for Yale University‘s class of 2011 have identified themselves as members of minority ethnic and racial groups, a record among freshman classes. And 37 percent of incoming freshmen indicated an interest in studying science and engineering. For the third straight year, more than 70 percent of students offered admission to Yale will matriculate in September.
