Out-of-state students looking to enroll in Worcester State University now have the chance to do so at a cheaper price.
The university’s Board of Trustees approved last week an incentive program to reduce an out-of-state student’s tuition by up to $3,767.
The scholarship is structured as a reduction of up to half of the student’s $7,534 general fee, but operates as a discount on the $7,050 surcharge out-of-state students pay.Â
Though the academic criteria for eligibility of the scholarship is not yet set, the school is eyeing a criteria of a 2.5 minimum GPA in high school and full-time day school enrollment.
For renewal, students would need to maintain the same GPA, full-time status and a minimum of eight contiguous semesters of eligibility.
The program would apply to undergraduate students only.
