The National Professional Science Master’s Association, based at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, has hired Donald Langenberg as director of strategic planning and external projects.
Langenberg is the former chancellor of the University of Maryland system. He led the 14-member university system from 1990 to 2002. Before that, he was chancellor of the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a professor of physics. He was named deputy director of the National Science Foundation in 1980.
Since retiring from the University of Maryland, he has been an advisor to the Council of Graduate Schools Professional Science Master’s Initiative as well as the NPSMA.
The NPSMA unites staff and students of nearly 200 professional science master’s programs offered by almost 100 U.S. colleges and universities.
